Team Sojourn

Lucianna Johnston, Creator and Operator of Sojourn

Body Movement has been part of Lucianna's life since as far back as she can remember. Dancing since 3  years old, began teaching dance and other fitness at 14, became a certified massage therapist at 20 and began teaching yoga about a year later at 21. Now, in her forties, she has a wealth of knowledge and experience to draw from in her service as a yoga studio owner, yoga teacher and massage therapist.  She teaches with intelligence, intuition, compassion and humor. Her specialty is understanding how to modify yoga in order to fit the student instead of trying to fit the student into the yoga. She is also known for her challenging and FUN classes that keep you strong and healthy but also enjoying the process.  She has a deep respect for the unique nature of each person she works with and has created a safe, fun and supportive atmosphere for her students to experience yoga in.

Barbara Dowd-Peters, Creator of Purposeful Life/Life Coach

Barbara is the creator and teacher of the 6 month class, Purposeful Life and Hanfords best kept secret. She has been coaching people in business, relationship, health, finances, manifestation and many other important life topics for over 20 years. She is an expert in reading energy and helping her clients identify where their patterns of self-sabotage are, what they need to heal to manifest the life of their dreams and how to discover and live their life purpose. Barbara works with her clients in a way that empowers each of them to look within for all the answers they need. She helps people find and develop their inner strength, intuition, self awareness and authenticity in a way that leads to no other place but purposeful living.

Cheri Azevedo, Administrative Yogini

Cheri is our beloved administrative yogini. She is the first person you will see when you walk through the door and helps keep things organized and running smoothly at the studio. She was a pricing coordinator for 35 years at Save Mart in Hanford before she retired in July 2016. In 2013 she heard about Sojourn and decided to give it a try. Cheri knew Lucianna pretty well already since she was a dance mom, and her daughter and Lucianna danced together for years. She tried yoga and.....she loved it!!! She had found her new home. Her retirement and the administrative yogini position becoming available coincided and it felt like it was meant to be.
